“I feel very lucky to work with the outstanding individuals that make up RLP. All the attorneys at RLP share a similar mindset when it comes to representing our clients, and that is to advocate for their interests as though they were your own. This means we go the extra mile in order to ensure our clients get the best possible outcome.”
N. Adam Spivey, Partner
Adam was born in Winston-Salem, but his family moved to Fayetteville when he was one. He lived in Fayetteville with his mom and two brothers until he graduated from E.E. Smith High School in 1999. After graduating high school, Adam moved to Greensboro to attend UNC Greensboro. Adam had interned at the Fayetteville Museum of Art his senior year of high school, and planned to be an Art History Major at UNC Greensboro. However, after taking his first art history class, he thought better of it, and decided to pursue a double major in Political Science and Geography. Adam continues to have a love of art and culture, but pursues this as a passion as opposed to a career.
While at UNC Greensboro, Adam met his wife, Kathy. Adam and Kathy have lived in Greensboro since college. Today they call Lindley Park, Greensboro, their home. Both Adam and Kathy are active in the neighborhood, and it is not unusual to see them at the Corner Farmer’s Market on Saturdays or at other events hosted by the neighborhood association. Adam is the Chair of the neighborhood association, and is very often involved in the organizing and staging of neighborhood events. Adam and Kathy love their neighborhood, and frequently remark that they cannot imagine living anywhere else.
Adam believes that being involved in one’s community is important, and that we all have a role to play in improving the place where we live. From his time working for Housing Greensboro, Inc. (a nonprofit housing organization now known as Community Housing Solutions, Inc.) to his time helping lead Elon University School of Law’s Public Interest Law Society, as its Vice-President, Adam has a history of being involved in community activities. Presently, Adam is a council member for SynerG, a young professional’s organization, whose mission is to make Greensboro a better and livelier place for young professionals to live. His work on SynerG’s Council often involves organizing and conducting public interest activities and events.
Adam enjoys litigating, and the challenges it brings. He especially enjoys working on real estate, land use and Homeowners Association litigation cases. When he is not at work, you can find Adam in his garden, on a soccer field, or on a beach fishing.
